PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
In accordance with the Vatican II Documents which states:
Since every man of whatever race, condition, and age is endowed with the dignity of a person, he has an inalienable right to education corresponding to his proper destiny and suited to his native talents, his sex, his cultural background, and his ancestral heritage. At the same time, this education should pave the way to brotherly association with other peoples so that genuine unity and peace on earth may be promoted. For a true education aims at the formation of the human person with respect to the good of those societies of which, as a man, he is a member, an in whose responsibilities, as an adult, he will share.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School administration, faculty and staff adopt the following philosophy:
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School is a Catholic community that is committed to the total development of the child in all aspects of life based on the four pillars of a Catholic education.
FAITH: Our aim is to develop ambassadors of Christ who have a respect for
life, a respect for all persons, and who continue to grow spiritually.
Our aim is to provide the child, at each level, with the skills necessary to
initiate their next stage of development and to prepare our students to function
within society.
ACADEMICS: We also strive to promote in each child a passion for learning and
the aspiration to continue in the educational process throughout his/her life.
DISCIPLINE:
Our aim is to provide an atmosphere where students will be self-disciplined, be
personally responsible for their behavior, be able to
balance justice with mercy, and be able to make decisions based on
the common good of the school community.
LEADERSHIP:
Our aim is to help build in the students good, moral, character traits that will enable them to be effective leaders now and throughout
their lives.
Through our philosophy, which encompasses the four pillars of education, which
include all aspects of lifeintellectual, spiritual, moral, social, and physical
we, in conjunction with our parents, who are the primary educators of their
children, strive to enable students to become worthy citizens of this world by
living out the Gospel message.

HOMEWORK POLICY
The individual instructor will assign daily homework. Homework /classroom
assignments provide a reinforcement of class instruction and help the student
form good study habits. Keeping these two positive aspects in mind, parents
should demonstrate an active interest in the childs day-to-day progress and
provide suitable conditions for home study.
Each student will be responsible for
turning in all assignments on time. In the case of an absence, the student
remains responsible for assignments due during that period. It is the students
primary responsibility to see that all assignments, both class and homework, are
completed and submitted to the teacher. Long-range research assignments should
be carefully time-planned so as to avoid last minute rush efforts.
